COVID-19: China looks to ban wildlife trade, fine those consuming protected animals

A spokesperson for China’s State Forestry and Grassland Administration announced on Thursday it was moving to expand the scope of protected wildlife and would revoke licenses for wildlife breeding organizations found to be breeding for consumption. They also plan to fine those caught eating both protected and non-protected animals. Shops serving protected meat would also face fines.
