Canada's Minister of Indigenous Services, Marc Miller, said on Thursday that the government is seeking to meet with Wet'suwet'en chiefs and the community as early as Thursday night or perhaps Friday morning, in order to come to a resolution to halt the cross-country railway blockades. Demonstrators are blocking railways across Canada to protest in solidarity with the Wet'suwet'en, who oppose the Coastal GasLink pipeline that would run through their traditional territory in B.C.
