AG Barr says Trump tweets make it ‘impossible for me to do my job’ in wake of Stone case controversy

U.S. Attorney General William Barr issued rare criticism of President Donald Trump in an interview with ABC News this week, saying that his tweets made it “impossible for me to do my job.” Barr’s comments were in response to growing controversy over the Justice Department recommending a lesser sentence for former Trump associate Roger Stone, which prompted four career prosecutors to walk away from the case. The attorney general defended the decision, saying it came before Trump even made his tweets but still suggested the president should stop making such social media posts.
