Elementary school teachers hit the picket lines in the Toronto and Ottawa regions today as their union kicked off a week of rotating one-day strikes, shutting down schools in three boards. Speaking to reporters Monday, Ontario Education Minister Stephen Lecce said he believes both sides have an “obligation” to end any ongoing labour action for the sake of the province’s parents.
