North Carolina lawyer says sheriff’s deputy fired for body-slamming student faces assault charge

North Carolina district attorney Mike Waters said on Tuesday that the sheriff’s deputy fired after video showed him body-slamming a student to the ground twice at a Henderson school would not face felony charges, but a warrant had been put out for his arrest on assault and misdemeanour child abuse.
