Federal Election 2019: Scheer vows to clear backlog of Canadian veterans waiting to receive benefits

Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer announced Sunday in Canoe Cove, P.E.I. that if elected, the Conservatives would provide more support for veterans, including clearing a backlog of veterans’ benefits applications. But as Mike Le Couteur reports, while some veterans welcome the announcement, others are concerned it’s another party making a promise it may have a hard time keeping.
