No bystander effect: Study suggests strangers are willing to help strangers

The use of surveillance video throughout the world is threatening to debunk the bystander effect theory, which suggests if you’re part of a big crowd, you’re less inclined to help someone in trouble. Previous research of this was done in laboratories. But as Heather Yourex-West explains, many real-life examples paint a much different picture.
