Research before rescue crucial to handling wildlife, says Kawartha Wildlife Centre

Each spring wildlife centres and rescue organizations become overwhelmed by well-meaning residents who have brought animals in from the wild. Tamara Hoogerdyk, with the Kawartha Wildlife Centre, says that while it may seem alarming to come across a litter of baby critters alone in the forest, it doesn’t necessarily mean they’re abandoned. She says it’s not unusual for parents to leave their young along while they gather food.
