McConnell calls Democrats’ current proposal to end government shutdown a ‘total nonstarter’

On the floor of the Senate, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell called Democrats current proposal to end the government shutdown Wednesday, a “total nonstarter.” Democratic leadership and the White House are feuding over funding for the President’s border wall, which was a central part of his 2016 Presidential campaign. The shutdown will enter its thirteenth day Thursday.
