Tick-monitoring study finds critters more widespread in Ottawa than previously thought

A team of researchers at the University of Ottawa are monitoring 23 sites across the city for tick populations over three years. What they found after one year is that tick populations in the national capital are more widespread than initially thought and it’s likely the city will see an increase in risk areas for Lyme disease in the coming years.
