Finnish officials can’t confirm it was a submarine they hit with depth charges
The Finnish military said on Tuesday it had dropped depth charges onto a suspected submarine in the sea outside Helsinki after twice detecting the presence of a foreign object in the area. The underwater target was first spotted by the navy on Monday and again on Tuesday morning. Finnish Defence Forces were investigating the incident. Defence Minister Carl Haglund told Finnish media the target could have been a submarine, but warned it might be difficult to find a proof of who or what exactly it might have been.
