U.S. President Donald Trump welcomed Russian President Vladimir Putin to Alaska Friday as the pair kicked off a summit to discuss a ceasefire deal following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The two leaders exchanged handshakes on the tarmac at Joint Base Elmendorf–Richardson and posed for photos before leaving together in a single vehicle. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, was not invited to the talks.
