Global Edmonton’s Erin Chalmers and her family have been going through a pretty remarkable journey. Several decades ago, a young Alberta couple had a baby in secret and gave her up for adoption. Later, they went on to have a several more daughters, one of whom grew up to be our morning news anchor. A few years ago, the adoption came to light and with the help of an investigator, the long-lost sisters were reunited in Spain in 2024. This summer, Erin’s sister brought her family here, where they were treated to Alberta’s sights and sounds, warm Canadian hospitality – as well as an emotional reunion with her birth parents. Erin sat down with her co-anchor Vinesh Pratap to talk about it.
