‘I filed all my requirements’: Carney pushes back on ethics claims, defends tax plan
Description
June 19, 2025
Prime Minister Mark Carney defended his government’s tax cut during question period on Thursday, saying it provides up to $840 in relief for two-income families despite opposition claims the average Canadian will only save $90. Carney insisted the cut benefits 22 million taxpayers and pushed back on accusations of ethical misconduct linked to his business past. He said he filed all conflict disclosures in advance and vowed to keep building a “single Canadian economy” focused on working families.
