If you’ve been bombarded with random texts from supposed recruiters offering cushy remote job opportunities, you’re not alone. But it’s more than just a nuisance: It’s a scam. Detective David Coffey from the Toronto Police Service says it’s part of a large money-laundering scheme. “Essentially what they’re doing is they’re creating money mules,” he said.
