Damaging winds are expected to affect the B.C. coast all day, meteorologist Mark Madryga said, with peak winds in Metro Vancouver to hit mid-afternoon through Tuesday evening.

The snowfall warning is in place for Boundary, East Columbia, Okanagan Valley, Shuswap, West Columbia, East Kootenay and Yoho Park.

The statement is in effect for Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley, Okanagan Valley, Fraser Canyon, the Southern Gulf Islands and east Vancouver Island.

Several sailings are cancelled Sunday and Monday between Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay, but another vessel has taken over the damaged ferry's route.

One sailing on its way to Tsawwassen was forced to idle in the Gulf Islands for hours after the winds made it unsafe to dock.

It's going to be a stormy day for many parts of B.C. on Tuesday.
