With thousands of patients currently sitting on a waiting list, finding a family physician in Kingston can take years. Now, Kingston city council is trying to come up with a solution to fix the doctor shortage.

Registration at the Royal Vale Academy in Notre-Dame-de-Grâce opened Monday morning. Annually parents camp outside the school to gain a spot for their child.

A new report from the Canadian Centre for policy alternatives showed 93 per cent of Regina daycares have a waiting list; 94 per cent in Saskatoon. They are among the highest in Canada.

The state of public housing in London will be discussed Monday at city hall.

"Basically you need to put your name down [on the wait list] as soon as you see a little pink line on the pregnancy test," one mom warned.
