Census Bureau director Steven Dillingham has set a Friday deadline for bureau statisticians to provide him a technical report on the effort.

President Trump insisted Wednesday that he is not dropping efforts to include a citizenship question on the upcoming 2020 census, even as the U.S. Census Bureau has started the process of printing the questionnaire without it.

Last year's figure is slightly above the previous peak of $58,665, reached in 1999.
