Reported deaths from Rai, the 15th and deadliest typhoon to hit the Southeast Asian nation this year, has hit 405 with most due to drowning, fallen trees and landslides.

At its strongest, the typhoon packed sustained winds of 195 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 270 kph before it blew out Friday into the South China Sea.
