The 14-year-old was in the gym at Ucluelet Secondary when she said two boys started throwing pickleball paddles. She alleged one of them got aggressive – taking aim at her face.

"There's a lot more entitlement to be out here right now when everything is so crazy still, and we still have the threat of COVID," said a lifelong Ucluelet resident of the illegal camping on back roads.

"It's really disturbing to see the way some people are choosing to leave behind the evidence of their presence here," said Tofino Mayor Josie Osborne.
