Rudolfs Balcers scored a tiebreaking goal in the second period and Senators beat the Panthers 3-2 Sunday, handing Florida its fourth straight loss.

"It was a one-period lapse and in the NHL that's enough to kill you. We didn't bury the ones that could have hurt when it was time and they got theirs and that hurt us," Senators coach Guy Boucher said.
