Emergency crews were called to Lawrence Avenue East, just east of Barrymore Road and west of McCowan Road, at around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Officials said three people were struck in total — two women, 57-years-old and 37-years-old — and a 20-month-old boy in a stroller who suffered critical injuries.

"As you got closer to him, he turned more into a brother."

Emergency crews were called to the area of Crockford Boulevard and Lawrence Avenue East, near Warden Avenue, at 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

Investigations said the pedestrian was initially taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators said a 29-year-old man was driving a Buick westbound when it struck the elderly man as he was crossing the intersection. 

Toronto police said officers responded to a call about a pedestrian struck in the area of Kennedy Road and Steeles Avenue, around 3:30 p.m.
