It was a reopening for the ages Thursday night as, after seven long years, the Roxy Theatre reopened its doors and heart to Edmontonians.

Ottawa has offered $2.5 million to help Edmonton's Roxy Theatre rebuild after a devastating fire four years ago.

Two months after the city and federal government provided money to get the rebuild going on Edmonton's Roxy Theatre, the Alberta government said it will contribute $2.5 million to the facility's future.
