The Alberta Energy Regulator is reporting a spill of about 400,000 litres of salty produced water from a pipeline owned by oil and gas producer ARC Resources Ltd.

Cold weather has prompted the suspension of cleanup operations at the site of a pipeline leak in northern Alberta, according to Husky Energy.

Husky Energy says 900,000 litres of produced water spilled from one of its pipelines in northwestern Alberta.

Cleanup crews are on site in northeastern Alberta after an estimated 100,000 litres of salty produced water leaked from a pipeline operated by Baytex Energy Corp.

The Alberta Energy Regulator says it has ordered Calgary-based Obsidian Energy to suspend activity at a well "and associated infrastructure" where 400,000 litres of produced water spilled late last month.
