19,000 New Brunswickers voted in advance polls as of Saturday afternoon, according to Elections New Brunswick. Election day for most of the province is May 10.

With social media advertising, rising costs of wood, and vehicle expenses, campaigning can be costly. But on top of those costs, candidates are taking time to campaign.

The wildfires along the Manitoba-Ontario border and the Whiteshell area continue to threaten more cottages and force evacuations. The maps below show where the active fires and hot spots are located, according to Government of Manitoba data.
