A southern Alberta father who pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and failing to provide his baby girl with the necessaries of life has been sentenced to seven years in prison.

AHS said due to COVID-19 restrictions in place, the 2022 Lethbridge New Year's baby wasn't announced publicly. Her family is now sharing her arrival with everyone.

The New Year brings new beginnings and for one family, it also brought new life. Melissa Foley and Ryan Mueller rang in 2020 with the birth of Lethbridge's first child of the new decade.
