Jeff McWhinney, the league's official Keeper of the Cup, was born in Winnipeg, and his personal links to the trophy run much deeper than simply the job.

Corey Howe, Gordie Howe's grandson previewed a Hockey Hall of Fame display at SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon. Gordie and his wife Colleen's ashes will be interred into the Howe statue outside of Sasktel Centre for "Thank You, Mr. Hockey Day."
