A vigil is set to take place Saturday evening in Edmonton to honour an obstetrician and gynecologist and her two daughters, who were on board the Ukraine International Airlines flight that was shot down in Iran Wednesday.

Mourners lit candles and shared photos of the Edmontonians who died in a plane crash in Iran at a vigil outside the Alberta legislature on Wednesday evening.

A newlywed couple, an obstetrician and her daughters, a family of four, and two graduate students have been identified as some of the dozens of people from Edmonton killed.
