Interior Health says an investigation has revealed 60 cases of COVID-19 at the popular resort east of Kelowna, with most cases traced to shared housing.

The health agency made the announcement on Friday afternoon, stating all cases associated with the cluster have received appropriate follow-up.

The health agency said Tuesday it is 'concerned by the upward trend and frequency of new [COVID-19] clusters in the region.'

Public health officials say it's especially important this year because the flu mimics some of the symptoms of COVID-19.

Anyone who attended services on Sept. 20 is directed to self-isolate until Oct. 4, Interior Health said.

Interior Health says a number of people attended a private party at Hotel Zed during the early hours of Monday, Sept. 7.

The public is being advised not to drink water directly from the lake in the bloom’s vicinity, near Ashby Point, nor to touch it.

Until Wednesday, region hadn’t seen an increase in confirmed cases since Saturday.
