Gables had planned to ring in the new year with a big event at the Grand Bend Motorplex, complete with 10 musical acts, two buffets, champagne, and prizes, all under a massive heated indoor tent.

Close to 1,400 cyclists are pedalling from Grand Bend to London and back to raise money and awareness around multiple sclerosis by participating in the annual MS Bike tour.

The city has put islands along Jalna Boulevard in an effort to slow things down, but it seems that's only made the road more attractive for street racers.
