Hamilton's public school board chairs revealed their initial thoughts on the Ford government's recent education funding announcement and the plan to convert underutilized schools.

The legislation, expected to pass early Saturday thanks to a Coalition majority at the national assembly, keeps with a Legault government promise to abolish school boards in favour of so-called service centres.

The bill deals in particular with the abolition of school boards, but also on a series of other issues including teaching staff, choice of school and more.
