Some services reopening in Phase 2 of Alberta's relaunch are seeing high demand after being shut down at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Plans to build a Nordic spa at Fort Edmonton Park have evaporated but the developer said it hopes to find a new spot for the project.

The Scandinavian-style spa, announced last month by Edmonton Nordic Spa, would sit on two acres of city land next to Fort Edmonton Park on the existing overflow parking lot, if approved.

Edmontonians will soon have a new option for unwinding after plans for a "Scandinavian-style" spa facility were announced on Wednesday.

Quebec company Groupe Nordik announced plans to build a $50-million spa in Parkland County, west of Edmonton.
