Two Kingston men have been charged in relation to a drone drop at Quinte Detention Centre in late October.

A lockdown is in place at Warkworth Institution after contraband was found on Saturday.

OPP-led Joint Penitentiary Squad search the Collins Bay Institution property for a reported drone.

Ontario Provincial Police say the seized drone was carrying a shipment of contraband intended for the Kingston prison.

OPP say an inmate inside the institution was also arrested after the attempted drone drop.

The institution went into partial lockdown on Saturday but has since resumed normal operations, according to a spokesperson for the Ministry of the Solicitor General.

Correctional Service Canada says they suspect drones to have dropped the packages containing drugs, tobacco and cell phones.
