Ed Fast says Pierre Poilievre's supporters in the Conservative caucus told him to 'just shut up' after he criticized the candidate's pledge to fire the Bank of Canada governor.

A party statement said Fast wished to step down in order to devote more time to supporting Jean Charest for the Conservative party leadership.
