Lethbridge city council engaged in debate and made multiple decisions on day two of its week-long budget review, highlighted by a unanimous vote to reduce the mayor and councillors' salaries.

"Something has got to change," Chief McFee said. "We can continue to do this and move money around and we'll just continue to have the same problem we've had for the last several years."

The Calgary Board of Education begins budget deliberations on Tuesday as members try to envision what classes will look like in September amid the coronavirus pandemic.

A councillor's motion called for the Kingston Economic Development Corporation budget to be held back until the organization completed an economic strategic plan.

All the vendors agreed that poor weather during the week made this year's Taste of Saskatchewan slightly less profitable than previous ones.

Peterborough County Council will look to pass the 2019 budget at a meeting scheduled for Feb. 28.

A public participation meeting at city hall will look at the draft budget, which was first tabled in December.

The increase in funding will bring Calgary from being the lowest municipal contributor to the arts in Canada to second lowest.

The impact on a Calgary household from current rates to the year 2022 will range from an extra $13 a month to an additional $17 a month.
