The Manitoba government has hired former British Columbia premier Gordon Campbell to review two major hydro projects that have added billions of dollars to the provincial debt.

The line in question is the Manitoba-Minnesota Transmission Project, the final leg of the controversial and very expensive Bipole III project. 

Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister left the door open Wednesday to relocating a planned hydro transmission line to a region that includes protected areas managed by First Nations communities.
