Vancouver Island-bound travellers hoping to get an early start on the B.C. Day long weekend could find themselves out of luck if they don't already have a ferry reservation.

The Coastal Inspiration was undergoing a repair to a propeller hub but BC Ferries says it will be delayed returning to service until at least June 30.

One passenger says they were then informed that 12 of the foot passengers waiting in the outside area would have to volunteer to take another ferry as the vessel had reached its capacity.
