The B.C. Government is promising to bring online renewals for ICBC insurance but won't set a specific date for implementation.

ICBC says drivers should expect an increase in basic rates in the next few months.

The corporation says there has been a sharp jump in the cost of injury claims. It says that is forcing an application to the B.C. Utilities Commission to raise the basic rate 4.9 percent.
