While there may be fewer cherries this season, those that managed to grow are larger and juicier, B.C. producers say.

"In normal years, we pick cherries about 10th of June. But this time, we picked on the 20th of May," said Paramjit Rai.

The B.C. government says in 2015, cherry exports recorded nearly $92 million in sales worldwide, an increase of 70 per cent compared to 2014.
