Officials believe the animals were killed around 10 p.m. on Feb. 7.

Alberta Fish and Wildlife Enforcement is looking for information after a bull moose was found shot and abandoned west of Nanton, Alta.

Witnesses told officers the bear was shot in the spine and could only move by dragging itself with its paws.

In a Facebook post, Alberta Fish and Wildlife described the bear as a mature male that weighed about 500 lbs. It was found about 15 metres off Red Rock Road, 145 kilometres south of Grande Prairie on Wednesday afternoon.

In December 2016, Alberta Fish and Wildlife Enforcement posted a video on their Facebook page of the alleged poaching of a white-tailed deer.

The most commonly poached animal in Alberta is the white-tailed deer.
