Alberta celebrated its inaugural birthday party holiday with Culture Minister Ron Orr bashing the prime minster and "Laurentian elites."

At the annual Alberta premier Stampede pancake breakfast, Jason Kenney announced Sept. 1 will be called Alberta Day starting this year.
