You won’t find their faces on the pages of history books: The 21 men who lost their lives in a horrific plane crash near Estevan on Sept. 15, 1946. But soon their faces will be carved into history as Estevan’s heroes.

An Alberta family says letters penned by their grandfather in the Second World War reveal a side of him they never got the chance to know.

The rightful owners of a bundle of letters dating back to 1946, which were found inside a stolen vehicle, have been located.
