"These officers will be embedded. (They) will be part of their neighbourhoods for the next four years. I want the neighbourhoods to get to know the officers and the officers to know the neighbourhoods."

Officers said 51-year-old Joseph Perron has been identified as the man who was beaten to death in Toronto's Parkdale neighbourhood. 

At around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Toronto police said a 911 call came in for an assault in progress at 103 West Lodge Ave. But a police source told Global News it wasn't until around 10 p.m. before a cruiser was even dispatched.

The Toronto Police Service has located Agnes Karson, 68, who was previously reported missing from the Queensway Avenue and Roncesvalles Avenue area Saturday.
