  • Astronomers detect ‘biggest explosion’ seen in the universe
    Astronomers at the Chandra X-Ray Observatory, which is run by NASA and the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, discovered the “biggest explosion seen in the universe” on Thursday, saying that a “giant black hole” in the Ophiuchus galaxy cluster caused the blast.     University of Arizona astrophysicist Feryal Ozel revealed on Thursday the first images of the Milky Way galaxy’s black hole, called Sagittarius A(*), near the border of Sagittarius and Scorpius constellations. She said the images are from the international consortium behind the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT), a collection of eight synchronized radio telescopes around the world.
