“I know they’re with God… they were lovely parents”: son of couple killed in Coquitlam hit and run

Francisco Rosales says the last time he saw his parents was yesterday and he told them he loved them.

His parents, Juan Jose Rosales, 76 and Marta Rosales, 66, were killed in a hit and run accident at Gatensbury Street and Austin Avenue in Coquitlam earlier today.

The couple was a mere 130 metres away from their home when a man driving a Dodge Ram 1500 truck struck and killed the couple.

Francisco, a pastor like his father at the Iglesia de Dios Church says, he “knows they’re with God… they were lovely parents and I bless the people that did this to my parents and hope one day they get salvation…”

Two  weeks prior to today, Marta had been in Guatemala attending her brother’s funeral.

“Everything is changing and some people don’t appreciate life,” Francisco says. “I hope that someday they come to realize it that they have to obey the law.”
