Okanagan plane crash investigation results

Peachland – The Transportation Safety Board has released the results of its investigation into an Okanagan plane crash that killed two of the four people aboard.

The twin engine Piper took off from the Penticton airport in August 2012, bound for Delta and crashed near Brenda mine in the woods west of Peachland.

Several factors contributed to the crash, including a reduced rate of climb attributed to atmospheric conditions.

As well, the plane was overweight, there was reduced power in one engine and the pilot did not use available turbo-chargers.

The man and woman who died were from the Lower Mainland.
