This is due to a combination of reasons but a lack of room in long-term health care facilities is a major one.

Emergency department staff will admit patients in serious condition, while those with non-urgent health concerns are asked to wait or seek attention at walk-in medical clinics.

Anyone with questions about a health concern can contact the province’s HealthLine at 811.
