PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. – Staff at Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert are extremely busy Wednesday due to an overcapacity of patients.
All 131 beds are taken and 16 patients are waiting their turn.
Since the beginning of April, the hospital has averaged over 100 per cent capacity, according to the Prince Albert Parkland Health Region (PAPHR).

This is due to a combination of reasons but a lack of room in long-term health care facilities is a major one.
Emergency department staff will admit patients in serious condition, while those with non-urgent health concerns are asked to wait or seek attention at walk-in medical clinics.
Anyone with questions about a health concern can contact the province’s HealthLine at 811.
