Surrey RCMP have charged a 25-year-old Vancouver man with allegedly drugging another man he met online, and stealing his property.
Police say during the encounter on Nov. 8, the suspect gave the man a drink which left him unconscious. When he woke up, he realized the suspect had stolen electronics, cash, and his car.
Toxicology tests showed GHB, also commonly known at the ‘date rape drug,’ in the victim’s system.

Police say the suspect, Brendan Roshinsky, had been in contact with other men and believe there could be more victims. They are asking anyone who thinks they may have been victimized to contact police.
“We want to ensure that anyone else who might have been a victim under similar circumstances comes forward and speaks to us,” says Surrey RCMP Corporal Bert Paquet. “This is a serious offence and investigators would like to identify any potential victims who are currently unknown to them.”
Roshinsky remains in custody pending his next court appearance Nov. 27 in Surrey Provincial Court.
