KELOWNA — Rockets forward Henrik Nyberg is hanging up his skates with the club.

The 19-year-old from Sweden has decided to return to his hometown of Danderyd.

“Henrik has come to the realization that playing in North America is not in his future and he wants to move on with his life,” said Rockets’ head coach Ryan Huska. “We fully support him in his decision and wish him well in the future.”

The Rockets selected Nyberg in the 2012 CHL import draft. He’s played 75 games with the club throughout the two seasons he’s hit the ice, notching 8 goals and 12 assists.

The team recounts him as a hard worker and is sad to see him go.
