UPDATE: Officials say power has been restored to the entire city.
PENTICTON — Pockets in and around Penticton were without power for upwards of two hours Friday morning.
“Shortly after 7 a.m., a large bird flew into the main feed from FortisBC to the Westminster substation, causing the feed to short out,” said City of Penticton Communications Officer, Simone Blais.
Power has now been restored to all areas of the city with the exception of customers on and around Naramata Road.
There is no confirmation on how many customers went, or continue to go without power.
“The City of Penticton Electric Utility thanks all customers for their patience” said Blais.
